Cilincing Hospital (RSUD), North Jakarta held eye examination service using door-to-door method for early detection of cataracts at RW 02 Secretariat Office, Jalan Kebantenan 1, Semper Timur Urban Village.

RSUD Cilincing Director, Suzi Freud mentioned, cataract is one of five most common disease in Jakarta. Thus eye examination service for residents aged 40 years and over is one of her efforts to detect cataract early and at the same time to bring service closer to the community due to COVID-19 pandemic.

"We do screening in here, then the result will be recommended by doctors to health center (puskesmas). If they get referral to RSUD Cilincing, we will prioritize the cataract patients," she said, Thursday (9/30).

According to her, similar service will be also carried out in other RWs and urban Villages in Cilincing Sub-district.

"This service is free of charge. If it needs further treatment, it will be covered by BPJS Health," she added.

Meanwhile, Semper Timur Urban Village Head, Cahyo Hudoyo stated, residents seemed very enthusiastic about this door-to-door eye examination service.

"There are 120 people who take advantage of this service. Thank you to RSUD Cilincing for providing this service, hopefully it can be carried out continuously in other RWs," he conveyed.
